RV2TheRescue is a non profit 501(c)(3) organization comprised of volunteers who transport abandoned, stray, and surrendered animals from high kill animal shelters in California. The volunteers either drive their own cars or fly their own airplane to contribute to this worthy cause. They transport mostly cats and dogs that are often going to a new home or to a rescue that will work hard to find them their forever homes.
This organization was formed four years ago by Sue Clark, retired airline Captain and retired Instructor Pilot for the Travis Aero Club in Rio Vista, Ca.
Those animals that are under 20 lbs are sometimes flown by commercial airlines in the main cabin to destinations all over the US.
